HALL OF FAME HEADLINES GAA AWARDS ON STAR STUDDED NIGHT

There was a very large and enthusiastic attendance at last Saturday nights presentation of the Northern Standard/R & S Printers sponsored Monaghan GAA Awards for 2014, the awards acknowledging the efforts and achievements of so many people, players, club officials and team mentors, both on and off the field during 2014.

The awards were spread across the whole spectrum of GAA activity in the County, the player awards acknowledging excellence on the field of play in all grades while others acknowledged the efforts and achievements of people involved in Scor and those involved in the underage scene right through to those whose outstanding service to the county in the past was acknowledged in their induction into the Monaghan GAA Hall of Fame and there was a special Merit Award to one man, Owenie Sullivan, for his unstinting support and dedication to the county team.

As always though the highlight of the night was the presentation of the Hall of Fame Award which this year again was a joint award that saw Castleblayney’s Tony Carville and Ballybay’s Eamon McAleer recognised for their outstanding service in the past.
