Significant Municipal District investment planned – but local business buy-in essential for strategy to succeed say councillors

The new retail strategy, as detailed by Cathaoirleach Sean Conlon on Monday, provides for the appointment of a “town centre co-ordinator” with responsibility for marketing campaigns, town branding and advertising, managed spend initiatives such as gift cards and loyalty cards, maintaining a database of businesses and customers and organising street events.
