Cathaoirleach of Monaghan Co Council Pádraig McNally has appealed to local organisations and individuals to assist in the ongoing search operation in the Lough Erne area of Co Fermanagh for missing Monaghan man Kieran McAree.

Mr McAree was reported missing on Wednesday, December 17 and an extensive search operation has been ongoing since then.

At Monday’s Co Council meeting, the Cathaoirleach stated that the Council should lend its support to the family, friends and community of Mr McAree at this time. He pointed out that all help was welcome with the continuing search operation, and he asked the members of the Council to keep the McAree family in their prayers.

Colr McNally encouraged local clubs and organisations to get involved in the search operation.

Sinn Féin councillor Pat Treanor said he had spoken to the family and they greatly appreciated the support they were getting in the North Monaghan area and from Enniskillen and the people of Co Fermanagh as a whole.

MASS

Prayers were offered at special Mass in St. Dympna’s Church, Tydavnet on Tuesday night for Kieran McAree and his family.
