SEÁN McDermotts moved out of the Intermediate Football League relegation zone with a two-point win at home to Corduff last Sunday.

The lead and momentum swung a few times in an action-packed game, which saw the Seáns make a decisive burst inside the final quarter, led by a Brian McQuaid goal.

Goal-scorers McQuaid and Damien Larkin were to the fore for the Seáns, along with Paddy Kieran and Noel Rice, while Declan Larkin, Jason Hand and Brendan McNally led Corduff’s challenge.

It took less than a minute for Corduff to open the scoring from a 30-metre free by Keith McEnaney. Larkin got the Seáns off the mark on five minutes and he went on to find the net from a penalty three minutes later, after Shane Larkin had been dragged down, having been first to react when a Paddy Kieran point-attempt came back off an upright.

McNally sent over a good point from the right wing for Corduff, but a clever flick by Larkin released …
