Last Sunday saw our county seniors have a rare off-day as they went down by 0-9 to 0-12 to Mayo in round seven of the NFL.

The county’s defeat at the weekend doesn’t however alter the fact that Monaghan have already qualified for the national league semi-final on April 27th next when they will meet Dublin.

Meanwhile our county under 14s had no better luck than our seniors on Saturday last.

The girls took on a very strong and well drilled Cavan side in round one of the competition and came unstuck by 0-4 to 7-12.
