A cross-channel police hunt, extending for nearly three months, for a man described as ‘a dangerous sex offender’ ended yesterday (Wed) when the 45-years-old fugitive from Glasgow, who was arrested by gardai in Cavan, appeared in custody at Carrickmacross District Court.

Lorcan Halton, who was last seen on January 9th and went on the run after failing to appear in court in Glasgow, was arrested earlier yesterday by the gardai in Cavan.

He appeared in custody before Judge Sean MacBride at a sitting of the District Court in Carrickmacross, and was further remanded to appear at a further court sitting in Cavan.

Police in Glasgow had warned the public not to approach the missing sex offender whom they described as “dangerous”.
