GREENWAY LITTER LOUTS TO BE CAUGHT ON CAMERA!

CCTV surveillance is to be employed along the recently opened first section of the Monaghan greenway development for walkers and cyclists in order to pursue prosecutions against those responsible for littering and dog fouling along its expanse.

This plan was agreed at Monday night’s meeting of Monaghan Town Council. The Town Engineer (Dermot Deeney) told the members that mobile CCTV cameras could be deployed in the area to counter these problems.

The extent of littering taking place on the greenway was brought to the meeting’s attention by Cathaoirleach Paul McGeown, who was informed by the Engineer that bins and signs had been ordered for the area.
