TRADERS in Castleblayney are determined to leave no stone unturned in the countdown to Christmas to attract hundreds of extra shoppers from all the adjoining counties and towns, so that a huge sales bonanza can be generated through a range of unrivalled top-value prices in all the shops.

A major campaign is now being planned which will attract shoppers from all the neighbouring areas on both sides of the border.

Special bargain lines are being introduced in all stores, and the aim is to make Castleblayney the premier shopping location in the North East, this Christmas.

An enterprising committee of Castleblayney traders, which has adopted the very effective Gaelic motto “Ni neart go cur le cheile”, met on Monday night last to plan its campaign.

Prior to the meeting, spokesman Brendan Tavey, who operates a well known drapery and footwear establishment in Main Street, said that following the success of last year’s shopping drive there is unanimous approval among the traders to embark on another Christmas marketing campaign along similar lines this year.
