EMYVALE ACHIEVE THEIR GOAL(S) AND NOW LOOK TO ULSTER CLUB CAMPAIGN
The age-old cliche which ordains that “goals win matches” richocheted around the rafters of St. Tighernach’s Park last Sunday after the curtain came down on a sparkling 2013 JFC final.
As the multitudes of black and white clad gaels smothered the hallowed turf in Clones in celebratory mood after the final, there were few more delighted than Emyvale stalwart Marty McAree.
McAree was part of the Emyvale troupe that captured the JFC in 2009 and four years on, his joy was reprised with the 4-9 to 1-9 victory over a battling Blackhill side.
The 34 year old was introduced as a sub and so tasted the very essence of county championship fervour.
He believes that unlike the medium term that followed Emyvale’s triumph in ’09, there should be better times …
