TYHOLLAND held out for the narrowest of victories to send Inniskeen crashing out of the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship in this very entertaining and at times highly exciting contest that built to an exhilarating finish in Emyvale on Saturday evening last.

Goals eventually did the trick for Tyholland as they struck three in all, two in the opening 10 minutes of the second half, the second of those putting them in the lead for the first time and thereafter they hung in very effectively to deny Inniskeen.

Inniskeen were the more impressive team in the opening half at the end of which they led by four points having led at one stage by six points as the game entered the second quarter, but the first of Tyholland’s goals from a penalty just on the half-hour gave them a foothold in the contest and they built on that in an increasingly effective second-half.

Inniskeen opened the scoring when Matthew McKenna raced through for a point after just 20 seconds …
