DONAGHMOYNE staged a strong finish to book their place in the semi-finals of the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship at Aughnamullen on Saturday afternoon last.

While Donaghmoyne took the lead with the first point of the game in the fifth minute they were playing catch up to a Cremartin side that showed great industry with the accuracy of Kevin Brennan in particular giving them an edge for long periods, with the result that Donaghmoyne did not regain the lead until the 19th minute of the second-half when Colm Connolly converted a free, but it was a goal by top marksman Darren McElroy a minute later that really set them on their way to victory.

The sides were level at half-time, the fourth time they were deadlocked in that opening period with Cremartin still continuing to hold an edge in the second-half before Donaghmoyne eventually equalised in the 17th minute and then pushed on for victory.
