Monaghan Town’s Market House has been registered as an office for the performance of civil marriages, Acting Co Manager David Fallon informed the members of Monaghan Co Council on Monday.
Mr Fallon said the Market House would hold civil marriage ceremonies, but not receptions.
He pointed out that a ceremony was due to be held there in June.
