Clontibret man Dean McMenamin is gearing up for a mammoth cycle challenge in aid of two worthy charities.

On Wednesday next, 3rd April Dean will embark on a six-month cycle adventure that will see him travel over 9,000km through 11 different countries until he reaches India. The cycle is in aid of charities ‘Cycle Against Suicide’ and ‘Concern Worldwide.’

Dean will set off from Dublin next week and will travel to Cork to get the ferry over to France. From there he will cycle through Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herezgovina, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran, UAE before finally reaching India.

People can follow Dean’s journey and sponsor him a few euro for a cup of coffee to fuel his cycle by visiting his website or his Facebook page All help received to help him achieve his goal will be greatly appreciated by Dean.
