PUPILS RUSH TO SCHOOL FOR FIRST DAY IN THE ALL-NEW GAELSCOIL ULTAIN

The pupils of Gaelscoil Ultain woke up full of anticipation on Tuesday morning, ate their breakfasts quickly and were in a great hurry to get to school — The reason being that they were moving into a brand new building on the Monaghan Education Campus which has just been unveiled in all its glory.

But it wasn’t just the pupils who were excited, as the news has been universally welcomed by the entire student community.

The Northern Standard caught up with Joe Ó Gallchóir, Principal of Gaelscoil Ultain to get his reaction to this auspicious day:
“This is a very exciting time, it’s a real privilege to have such a fine building. It’s the first time that the whole school has been under one roof. Pupils, teachers and the parents are all very happy.

“The fact that we have a playschool which is taught through Irish and a secondary school on-site, Coláiste Oiriall, is great recognition of the language and culture,” he said before continuing:
