ULSTER SCRIBES HONOUR INSPIRATIONAL NIAMH WITH TOP ACCOLADE

here was more recognition for Monaghan’s ladies footballers at last Friday night’s Ulster Writers Jubilee Awards held in the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran. Monaghan had two nominees for the Ladies Footballer of the Year Award, namely Catriona Mc Connell and Niamh Kindlon. Both of these players have had an excellent year, both for their county and clubs. In the end the award went to Niamh Kindlon from Magheracloone. Niamh has been an inspiration to any perspective lady footballer over the past years. Many will remember the young 16 year old making her debut appearance in Croke Park in that epic 1997 All Ireland final against Waterford.
Niamh has been a key player for Monaghan and indeed her club ever since. But the one thing that makes Niamh stand out, is her total commitment and determination.
