The movie-going memories of the Co Monaghan public are being sought by a film company producing a documentary for RTÉ Television.
A crew from Dublin-based Planet Korda Pictures will be at the Diamond Screen Cineplex in Monaghan Town today, Thursday, November 1, to do some filming for ‘See You at the Pictures!’
Some interviewees have already been lined up to share their recollections of the cinema experience, but the production team say that people are welcome to call on the day to talk to them.
“Perhaps some people have cinema memorabilia or old photographs at home they would like to show us, or if they just want to have a chat about their local cinema, we’d love to meet them,” Frances Harvey of Planet Korda Pictures told The Northern Standard.

    Hello from the Diamond Cinema- We had a great time in the cinema when the film-makers called. It was all lights, cameras, action and there was time for movie-goers to have a chat on camera about their favourite movie, tales about the cinema and why they love going there. The crew took a particular interest in the old 35mm projectors and an antique ticket machine. Hope to see it on the small screen Easter 2013…………
