Following a speical open meeting on Tuesday night last at Gortakeegan, Monaghan United Football Club is seeking assistance from the people of County Monaghan to help tide the Club over an immediate financial shortfall. With the Club winning promotion to the Premier Division of the Airtricity League , it had set a target of achieving Stadium and/or Main Shirt Sponsorship for the Season. Unfortunately this major sponsorship has not been obtained to date, despite the fact that several national Companies expressed strong interest in it. This has left a significant gap in Club finances. The meeting resolved to seek help from the County to overcome this.
 An appeal is being launched for financial contributions and a special Bank Account is established for this purpose, in the Ulster Bank, The Diamond, Monaghan, Branch Sort Code, 98-61-20, Account Number 11333221.
 Huge disappointment was expressed at the small attendance at the Club’s last home game against Bray Wanderers, despite the Club coming off its first win of the Season, at Bohemians, the previous week.
 The people of Monaghan can show their support for Senior Soccer Football in Monaghan by coming in large numbers to Monaghan United’s next home game against Derry City on Tuesday 15th. May 2012, kick off at 8pm. If senior football is to survive in Monaghan, the public will have to demonstrate …
