CAPTAINS DRIVE IN THE NEW GOLFING YEAR!

Golf, like many other sports, has its funny traditions. To the outsider, they may seem a little odd-masonic even! The years have seen golf open up to be a more inclusive sport and many feel it’s best to reform and leave our colonial ways behind. “Good afternoon Captain”-“How are you Mr. President?” not surprisingly raise a few eyebrows. The sight of our members marching to our old first tee for a Drive-In behind Peadar Morgan’s piper, totally bemused our Roma friends when they lived in the annex a few years back. I daresay one or two of them thought we were trying to scare them away.
