Independent Presidential Candidate Mary Davis will visit Monaghan this Friday October 14th as part of her nationwide election campaign. She will begin by visiting Carrickmacross before going to Castleblayney and finishing in Monaghan town.
With just two weeks until polling day, Mary Davis is scheduled to canvass in Carrickmacross from 12.30pm. She will then move on to Castleblayney for 1.30pm before finishing in the busy Farmer’s Market in Monaghan Town at 2.15pm. Monaghan County Council was one of the first local councils to support Mary’s bid to secure a presidential nomination earlier in the campaign.
Mary has visited Monaghan many times throughout her career. She attended the launch of the National Famine Commemoration in August in Clones. Speaking yesterday after the presidential radio debate, Mary said: ‘I’m delighted to be heading back up to Co. Monaghan. The people have been so supportive since the campaign started. I attended the launch of the National Famine Commemoration and have received nothing but kind words of encouragement. I have a great team of supporters there. In 2003 we had an amazing group of volunteers in Monaghan who were vital to the success of the national strategy of athlete support and facilitation.’
