History was made at Saturday’s 60th Tydavnet Parish Show when the same show cow won the overall Choice of Champions Senior Champion of the Show for the third consecutive year. The eight year old cow — “Ternbridge Ruth 38” owned by David and Kenny Boyd and Denis O’Neill, was a clear winner with the judge Paul Flanagan and spectators alike. The cow has had a lot of successes throughout her show career, including becoming the overall champion at the 2011 Virginia Show, the Emerald Expo in Kilkenny earlier this year and winning overall senior cow in the Breffni/Oriel herds competition. Following the win David Boyd said: “Any win is nice but to win at Tydavnet puts the icing on the cake. Tydavnet is one of those shows that people look up to,” he said.
