No decision yet on managerial positions
A large and representative section of the Monaghan GAA family has decided to put on hold the question of who’ll take charge of the county’s senior footballers, senior hurlers and minor hurlers in 2011. At their August monthly meeting on Monday evening last in Truagh, the County Committee voted by a majority decision to back a proposal allowing clubs to put forward nominations for the positions of all three outgoing managers, Seamus McEnaney, Frank Brady and Brendan Murphy. The county board has set a deadline of September 3rd next for the receipt of nominations for all three positions.
It is unclear as to whether any or all three of the incumbents will seek a nomination but the feeling among the grass roots of the Association in the county is that all three will receive nominations from at least one club.
Of the 33 clubs in the county, delegates from 31 clubs were present on Monday night last at the well-appointed St. Mellan’s Complex with just Blackhill and Fergal O’Hanlons being unrepresented.
