Last Friday, 30th July, 2010, was a very momentous occasion when parents, pupils, parishioners and members of the wider community witnessed the turning of the first sod for a new three teacher school and adjoining hall beside Dartrey Hall. Bishop Jackson officiated at the ceremony and congratulated the local community on their vision and foresight The Chairperson of the Board of Management, Mr. Roy Jackson thanked all who have been involved in the project to date. Refreshments were served in the hall after the ceremony.

It is hoped that the building of the school will commence in the next fortnight and that it will be completed by next April. Funding from the Department of Education was allocated in the Spring time although the shortfall will require some fundraising. The building of the hall is Phase Two of this exciting project and should commence in the Autumn.
