What a day that was! Record attendance, record entries, both car parks full to overflowing, fantastic displays and good weather. There was an estimated 6,500 visitors this year.

The 55th Castleblayney Show could be said to be the best in the history of the show. The show was officially opened by Big Tom and Eddie Downey, Deputy President of the IFA.

There was a record number of Trade Stands that seemed to be doing very good business.

The Blacksmithing Display was very well attended as were all the other displays. The standard of exhibits in the Horticulture, Farm Produce and Home Industries was excellent, showing that the tradition of vegetable growing, flower arranging and home baking is still alive and well in Castleblayney.
