3,500 jobs in seven years is Monaghan Chamber’s plan

A delegation from Monaghan Chamber of Commerce attended Monday’s meeting of Monaghan Co Council to solicit the authority’s support for an ambitious economic development strategy programme which envisages the creation of 3,500 jobs over the next seven years.

Outlined by Chamber Secretary Riona Carroll, the Chamber action plan – which is elaborated in a comprehensive strategy document, “Monaghan – A Place to Live, Work and Invest” – presents a positive diagnosis of the county’s ability to regenerate its economy.

Monaghan Chamber President Gordon Fleming told the councillors that they were looking at bringing inward investment into the area not just for Monaghan Town but Monaghan county …
