









































FORMER Minister for Justice Alan Shatter — who announced his resignation yesterday — has ordered a public interest inquiry into the death of Carrickmacross man Shane O’Farrell, the 23-year-old law student who was killed in a hit-and-run incident on 2nd August 2011. Lithuanian man Zigimantas Gridziuska subsequently pleaded guilty to failing to stop at the scene and was given an eight-month suspended sentence. The defendant had a history of drug abuse, had 42 previous convictions and was already on suspended sentences in both the Republic and Northern Ireland. ...
