ERRIGAL CIARAN AND ST GALL’S SET FOR SEMI FINAL ENCOUNTERS

BY COLM SHALVEY Errigal Ciarán and St. Gall’s joined Kilcoo in the Ulster Club Senior Football Championship semi-finals in winning last Sunday’s quarter-finals. Errigal needed a late point from Thomas Canavan to beat Ballinderry in their much-talked-about match at Healy Park. The Ballygawley side didn’t have Ronan McGuckin on their sideline after he refused to manage against his home club, but despite seeing a three-point first-half lead and a four-point second-half cushion evaporate, Peter Harte drove Errigal on to win by 0-11 to 0-10, with Canavan’s fifth point settling it.
