August is set to see the return of Co Monaghan’s major summer agricultural show events. The committee of Castleblayney Show announced this week that preparations for their 2022 event were “going full steam ahead”, and they planned to “bring you a fantastic day for all the family” on Bank Holiday Monday, August 1. By Veronica Corr The Tydavnet Parish Show committee have confirmed that the 61st show, scheduled for August 18th will go ahead, but will be scaled down. The decision was taken due to field conditions being less than ideal for livestock classes, given the recent spell of wet weather. In fact, July was the wettest and coldest on record.
