Sponsors, restaurateurs, public representatives and interested parties turned out in force to welcome for the fourth time, what has become an annual event. The honour of launching the festival was shared between Monaghan Town Mayor Seamus Treanor and County Mayor Hugh McElvaney. This is the third year of the popular Festival of Food which will run from 6th – 9th October. The recent Taste of Monaghan Festival was hailed as a great success by the members of Monaghan Town Council on Monday night. Councillors passed a vote of congratulations with the organisers of the Festival. Congratulations were also expressed to the pupils of St Macartan’s College who represented their school at a recent law event in the United States. Sean Conlon congratulated actor Aoibhin McGinnity from the Clones Road in Monaghan who had a leading role in the current RTE drama series Love/Hate.  Colr Conlon noted that Aoibhin had started off her acting career ...
