The HSE has unreservedly apologised for shortcomings in the management and care of a Carrickmacross woman, Sharon McEneaney, whose death occurred at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda. The High Court was told on Tuesday that the HSE had reached a settlement of €62,500 in the case of the 31-year-old woman, who had waited nine months for a cancer diagnosis and died in 2009. CONSIDERABLE public interest was aroused at the weekend into a Health Service Executive report into the death of a 31-year-old South Monaghan lady, following treatment at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, which found that the hospital had “completely failed her”.
