Congratulations to Mrs. Olive Chambers, Latlorcan, Monaghan who celebrated her 100th birthday in Drumbear Lodge Nursing Home on Wednesday, 19th November.  Mrs. Dympna McMahon, Nurse Manager read a letter of congratulations from President Michael D. Higgins. Rev. DM Patterson, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, paid a glowing tribute to Olive and Mr. Tom Russell led ‘Happy Birthday’ on his bagpipes.  Mrs. Chambers spent all of her working life in the drapery business serving her time in The Diamond Drapery, now Boyle’s.  She worked for 26 years in the old firm ...
