Josh Moffett and Jason McKenna made it back to back wins with victory on last weekend’s Monaghan Stages Rally. The pair led the event from start to finish coming home well ahead of the opposition. As in 2015, Josh’s closest challenger was his brother Sam. However, Sam and co-driver, James Fulton were always going to struggle in their R5 specification Fiesta compared to Josh’s WRC version. A jubilant Josh Moffett and co-driver Jason McKenna celebrate their home crew victory in last Sunday’s Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan Stages Rally. The duo triumphed with just 5.1 seconds to spare after a stirring contest with Josh’s older brother Sam (who just missed out on completing a hat-trick of wins in the event) and National Championship leader Donagh Kelly. This weekend will see the culmination of hard work and planning over the past six months come to fruition for CoC Brendan Flynn and his dedicated team as the chequered flag is lowered for the 2014 Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan Stages Rally. All roads lead to Monaghan this coming weekend as Monaghan Motor Club host their biggest sporting event of the calendar. With a bumper entry and no stone left unturned by the organisers this event is sure to live up to its billing as one of the top stages events of the rally season. The climax of Monaghan Motor Club’s rally calendar takes place over the coming weekend with the Hillgrove Hotel Monaghan Stages Rally on Sunday next. Many months of meticulous planning will come together over the coming weekend. A bumper entry of 131 crews will descend on Monaghan town and the neighbouring North Monaghan villages like, Balinode, Scotstown, Tydavnet, Bragan and Carrickroe.
