COMPETITIVE CRICKET RETURNS TO MONAGHAN AFTER 140 YEARS

Sunday July 14th was not only a red letter day in the short history of the fledgling Monaghan Cricket Club, but an historical day in the overall context of the game of cricket and it’s association with Monaghan. Just as the final wicket fell in the Ashes Test in Trent Bridge in Nottingham, the first competitive cricket ball in over 140 years was being bowled in Monaghan Town.
