Donaghmoyne   0-11 Mourneabbey 0-08 By ERIN TREANOR Donaghmoyne returned to the top of ladies football’s pecking order after landing their fourth All-Ireland Senior Club Championship title in ten years on Sunday last in Parnell Park, Dublin. In honouring the memory of their late Chairman Martin Daly, the Monaghan and Ulster standard bearers were full value for their 0-11 to 0-8 victory over Cork kingpins Mourneabbey. After being battered by Storm Desmond over the previous two days, the Dublin venue was graced by perfect conditions for a match that turned out to be a brillant ...

By Colm Shalvey Donaghmoyne and Corduff will contest this Sunday’s Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League Final, while Clontibret and Scotstown will battle it out for the right to play Castleblayney in the County Monaghan Group of Credit Unions Senior Football League decider. Corduff held off a late charge from Clones last Sunday to qualify for this Sunday’s IFL Final, where they will play Donaghmoyne, who edged out Ulster Club IFC finalists Inniskeen in their league semi-final 11 days ago. Corduff, who lost to Inniskeen in the championship semi-finals, have now gone a ...

By Colm Shalvey Donaghmoyne await the winners of Sunday’s rescheduled game between Corduff and Clones in the Monaghan Electrical Intermediate Football League, after they gained a small measure of revenge on their rivals Inniskeen last Sunday. Donaghmoyne had lost to their neighbours by a single point in the IFC Final last month, but they turned the tables in this one to keep their promotion hopes alive. The lead changed hands several times in a topsy-turvy game, where a strong Donaghmoyne start fell away before half-time, with Paul and Ronan Meegan helping hosts ...

Corduff 1-09 Donaghmoyne 0-14 By KEVIN CARNEY A seven point lead at half-time was all the leg-up Donaghmoyne needed to go on and bag the spoils at the expense of IFL hosts Corduff on Saturday evening last. In a game that had a lot of championship fervour about it, Corduff fought the gallant fight but the challenge posed by a substantial early deficit allied to the loss of a player for the final quarter was a double whammy which conspired to cripple their ambitions. Donaghmoyne travelled to their near-neighbours in sleeves-rolled-up mode and within 11 ...

Donaghmoyne 1-13 Cremartin 1-10 BY JOHN GRAHAM DONAGHMOYNE staged a strong finish to book their place in the semi-finals of the McGuigan Builders Intermediate Football Championship at Aughnamullen on Saturday afternoon last. While Donaghmoyne took the lead with the first point of the game in the fifth minute they were playing catch up to a Cremartin side that showed great industry with the accuracy of Kevin Brennan in particular giving them an edge for long periods, with the result that Donaghmoyne did not regain the lead until the 19th minute of the second-half ...

DONAGHMOYNE 1-10 CORNACON 1-05 BY BRENDA MCANESPIE DONAGHMOYNE made up for last year’s semi final defeat against Cornacon, when they produced yet another impressive performance to claim their third senior club All Ireland title with a gritty 1-10 to 1-5 victory over their old foes, and defending champions, from Connacht. Donaghmoyne started with all cylinders firing, attacking Cornacon right from the throw in. Indeed it was this relentless pressure that resulted in Donaghmoyne getting off to a dream start. Amanda Casey found Eillen Mc Elroy who was fouled and the resulting free was converted by ...

Fontenoys seek third All-Ireland Club Senior Football Championship title in the noughties. by KEVIN CARNEY It’s being billed as a straight shoot-out between Donaghmoyne dynamo Cathriona McConnell and Mayo maestro Cora Staunton but the first-named is having none of it. Captain McConnell will lead the Monaghan and Ulster champions into the All-Ireland club SFC final at Ballinamore, county Leitrim this Sunday (1.30pm) against the Staunton-powered Connacht champions, Cornacon. But any talk of the title being decided by two players on the pitch this weekend is knocked straight on the head by ...

DONAGHMOYNE FLIES FLAG FOR MONAGHAN IN ALL-IRELAND FOOTBALL CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Donaghmoyne carry Monaghan’s hopes for All Ireland club glory this weekend when both their A and B teams play in the All Ireland semi finals. First up is the B team who play Boherbue ( Cork ) on Saturday. Having a second team at senior level is an acheivement on its own, but to win a county title and then go on to win an Ulster title is a fantastic achievement. They have the ability to go further and with home advantage, don’t rule out the possibility of this team going all ...

The facility was discovered in a shed at Monilla, Donaghmoyne in the early hours of the morning. No arrests were made but a man in his 40s was questioned in relation to the incident.
