Michael Fisher A politician originally from Carrickmacross who stood in the general election for the Green Party in Dublin caused a major upset by winning a seat in the new Daíl. Councillor Catherine Martin, a teacher in Dundrum, contested the Dublin Rathdown constituency, where former Energy Minister Alex White (Labour) lost out in the new three-seat ‘group of death’ constituency.
