The Bishop of Clogher Dr Liam MacDaid has made a special appeal at a Mass in Carrickroe, Emyvale, for anyone with information about Columba McVeigh, abducted and killed by the IRA in 1975 and then secretly buried, to come forward. Dr MacDaid urged anyone who might have even a small shred of evidence about where Mr McVeigh was buried to contact the Independent Commission for the Location of Victims’ Remains. By PATSY McARDLE A huge search was resumed in North Monaghan this week for the body of a young Co.Tyrone man murdered by the IRA nearly forty years ago with the exhumation on Tuesday last of a body from a churchyard at Urbleshanney near Scotstown, close to the Monaghan/Tyrone border.
