









































By Cianna McNally Carrickmacross Town Council elected the youngest mayor in Ireland on Monday afternoon, 11th June when Green Party councillor Darcy Lonergan accepted the chain of office. Councillor Lonergan is also the first Green Party member to take on the mayoral role in Carrickmacross. The 22-year-old was unanimously elected after she was proposed by party colleague Kristina Jankaitiene and seconded by Sinn Féin’s Matt Carthy.
