The HSE along with An Garda Síochána and Monaghan County Council have made an urgent appeal to people to help stop the spread of Covid-19, following the relaxation in restrictions from level five to level three as Chrsitmas approaches.

In a statement issued last Thursday, the authorities said the incidence rate of COVID19 in Co. Monaghan had come down in recent weeks and they thanked the communities in Monaghan and Cavan for all their hard work and efforts in working together to reduce the number of cases. The statement continued: “It is more important now than ever that we continue to build upon this good work. It is difficult but we need to keep up our guard, play our part and work with our families and communities to stop the spread of Covid-19.”

Figures released by the Department of Health show that in the last fourteen days up until Tuesday there were 72 new positive cases in Monaghan. This represents an increase of eleven on the previous fortnight. The….
