LOCAL BOXER SIGNS MAJOR MULTI-FIGHT DEAL WITH GOLDEN BOY PROMOTIONS

Monaghan Light Welterweight Aaron McKenna who is regarded as one of the hottest properties in Irish boxing has become the country’s youngest professional boxer after a stellar amateur career, and has now joined one of the biggest stables in the world boxing – home to the likes of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, Miguel Cotto and Jorge Linares.

An eight-time national champion in the underage ranks, McKenna – fighting out of Old School Boxing Club in Smithborough – will head for the hills of Hollywood to embark on his exciting career in the paid ranks. The 18-year-old is also a European Schoolboys gold medallist, and picked up silver at the European Juniors in 2014 and has recently added another Gold after winning a Major Multi- Nations tournament in Russia.
