MONAGHAN SCHOOLS GET SCIENCE FOUNDATION IRELAND RECOGNITION

Seven primary schools across Co Monaghan have received awards recognising their work in the ‘SteM’ subjects of science, technology, engineering and mathematics over the 2016/17 school year. The schools have each been presented with a Science Foundation Ireland ‘Discover Science and Maths Award’, as part of a programme that aims to increase interest in the STEM subjects among primary school students and teachers.

The announcement was made yesterday by Tánaiste and Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Frances Fitzgerald TD. The schools are Deravoy National School; Urbleshanny National School; Scoil Rois; Knockconan National School; Scoil Bhríde Mullaghrafferty; Gaelscoil Eois and St Tiarnach’s Primary School.
