Ulster History Circle Ceremony on Saturday

The Primate of all-Ireland and Archbishop of Armagh Dr Eamon Martin will attend a ceremony near Augher, Co. Tyrone, on Saturday morning to mark the life of a priest from the Clogher Valley who went on to become the first Archbishop of New York. He will unveil an Ulster History Circle blue plaque at St Macartan’s Church (known locally as the Forth Chapel), Ballynaguragh, to mark the life of Archbishop Hughes.

The UHC is a voluntary group that erects blue plaques to honour men and women of achievement. It recently honoured in Castleblayney a World War I soldier from Broomfield, Thomas….
