COUNTY MONAGHAN SUFFERING HEALTH FUNDING DISCRIMINATION, COUNCILLOR COYLE CLAIMS

A significant pattern of discrimination against Co Monaghan in funding under a range of health service headings has emerged from statistics presented to the HSE’s Regional Health Forum for Dublin and the North East.

This was claimed to The Northern Standard this week by Fianna Fáil local public representative Seamus Coyle, who said that calculations he had done from statistics he had obtained from the HSE showed that counties Monaghan and Cavan, although having 34.1% of the population covered by the ambit of the Regional Forum area, had received only €96,604 or 24.8% of the budgeted health allocation in 2017.
