JOBS CRISIS TARGETED IN CLAIM THAT CO MONAGHAN IS ‘NEGLECTED’ BY GOVERNMENT AND THE IDA

Monaghan is “grossly neglected by the government and the industrial development authority in the share-out of jobs nationally” and the attraction of new projects.

This was the shock claim yesterday (Wed) by local MEP Matt Carthy, when he hit out at the fact that it appeared to him, and to many others, that the area is not being sufficiently promoted, when it comes to job creation through foreign direct investment.

He revealed he was calling on the government, the Minister for Jobs, Ms. Mary Mitchell- O’Connor T.D., local government representatives, TDs, and the IDA, to urgently address the issue, which, he claimed, has “very serious implications for local communities”.
