Sinn Féin MEPs Martina Anderson and Matt Carthy will be bringing a task force of MEPs from the European Parliament to Ireland this week on a fact finding mission to see at first hand the impact Brexit will have on Ireland, North and South. 

  The delegation will be made up of MEPs from the GUE/NGL group in the European Parliament and will visit Monaghan, Louth and Armagh to learn how disastrous the British government’s Brexit agenda will be for border areas in particular. 
  The MEPs will meet with local councillors and representatives of councils on both sides of the border and discover the negative impact partition had on Ireland and how it would be compounded by Brexit. 

Martina Anderson will host a public meeting with the group in the Carrickdale Hotel, Louth, on Thursday, March 30 at 7.30pm to discuss Brexit and the case for the North to secure special designated status within the EU. 

  The task force will then travel to Belfast on Friday, March 31 to meet with community groups who have benefitted from European Union funding and see how it has strengthened and empowered local communities. The MEPs will then travel to Stormont where they will meet …
