NATIONAL AWARD MARKS HOSPITAL CONSULTANT’S CONTRIBUTION TO ROAD SAFETY IN MONAGHAN

A hospital consultant who has made a significant contribution to heightening awareness of road safety among young people has had his work honoured with a national award.

Dr Ashraf Butt, who is an emergency medical consultant, was one of 37 individuals and organisations honoured at the ninth annual Road Safety Awards on Wednesday, December 14 last.

The awards were presented by the Road Safety Authority’s Chairperson Liz O’Donnell and Chief Executive Moyagh Murdock in Farmleigh House. The ceremony was compered by RTE news correspondent Teresa Mannion.

Dr Butt, lead consultant in emergency medicine with the Cavan/Monaghan Hospital Group, was the recipient of one of 18 Special Recognition Awards to people who demonstrated a commitment to road safety in their communities.
