MONAGHAN FOLK IN LONDON RAISED MORE THAN €20,000

A hugely successful fund-raising event organized by the Monaghan Association in London was held last weekend in support of the Shabra Foundation campaign to whip up more than €1 million for the purchase of a new genetic sequencing unit for the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

The function provided an opportunity for Irish people from all areas domiciled in London to support the campaign which is currently under way with a varied series of events countrywide to reach the funding target required.

The Shabra Foundation was founded by the late Oliver Brady, a noted horse-racing figure and Mid-Monaghan-based business partner of successful local industrialist Rita Shah in 2010. Since then, the Foundation has raised over €600,000 for numerous causes, including hospitals across …
