Judges from the Restaurant Association of Ireland’s “Foodie Destinations 2016” were in Monaghan yesterday.

Member of the Co Monaghan Food Network were on hand to given a presentation on the variety and quality of local food production “from farm to fork” to advance Monaghan’s bid to become the country’s top “Foodie Destination” this year.

The judges’ findings will form half of the adjudication process that will determine whether Monaghan, selected as one of the Top Ten contestants in the event in its first year of entry, will carry off the crown.

The remaining 50% of marks will be determined by public vote, and the campaign is ongoing to maximise the support for Monaghan’s bid. You can cast your vote on the website www.foodiedestinations.ie before the September 9 deadline.
