SOSAD RECEIVES PROCEEDS OF THE DECLAN KEENAN/ MICHAEL QUINN MEMORIAL CUP

The proceeds of a charity football match held in honour of the late Declan Keenan and Michael Quinn (RIP) in Aughnamullen in May past has been donated to SOSAD (Save Our Sons And Daughters).

On Saturday, 21st May, two GAA teams got together for the first Declan Keenan and Michael Quinn memorial cup challenge match in Aughnamullen Community Centre. Michael’s team, Clonbullogue GAA, club travelled up from county Offaly to challenge Declan’s club, Aughnamullen.

Kevin Keenan, the late Declan Keenan’s brother and also a brother-in-law of the late Michael Quinn, wanted to do something special with all his family, in memory of the two men and to also help raise funds for SOSAD (Save Our Sons And Daughters) for helping Declan’s partner Gillian and their children during a very difficult time. Keith Sheridan, a family friend, also wanted to help and so together they organised a well turned-out event in Aughnamullen.
