BODY-WORN video cameras as part of the uniform for those in the front-line of fighting crime are on the way for policemen on both sides of the Border!.

Although, so far, no decision on the issue has been taken in relation to An Garda Siochana, it was revealed this week that the body-worn video technology has now been approved for the PSNI in the North and will be used in the future by officers on   front-line duty along the border and operating from various PSNI bases in the North.

It also emerged during the week that the PSNI have appointed Edesix as the supplier for the revolutionary new body-worn video unit. This development marks the next phase in the roll-out of body worn video technology to officers delivering front-line policing across Northern Ireland.
