Monaghan Lions Club celebrated its 25th Charter night in style with a glamorous ball in the stately surroundings of Castle Leslie in Glaslough.

An auction and raffle raised a substantial amount for local charities. Every cent collected goes directly to charitable causes and there are no hidden administration costs.

The Club would like to thank all those donors whose generosity in providing auction items and prizes helped to make the night a success. The hotel staff provided efficient service and helped to ensure everything ran smoothly. The lively band Sugartown Road kept the guests entertained on the dance floor until the early hours.

Whilst Lions Clubs International are in their 99th year, the dinner on Saturday was a huge celebration for the Club. Each and every member, past and present, has contributed to making the Club the success that it is today. But this would not be the case if it wasn’t for the support of the local community and every single donation received over the years.

Without such generosity, the Club would not be in a position to help those most in need. Friends and supporters put their trust in Lions to use these funds for the most deserving causes. This is something the Club treats not only with a sense of responsibility, but also with tremendous respect.
