The Teach na nDaoine Family Resource Centre serving the Mullaghmatt and Cortolvin communities of Monaghan Town will play host on Saturday, September 12th next to a novel initiative designed to raise funding to help rebuild Nepal.

Life coach Aoife Kane, a yoga instructor and therapist, will hold a donation-based yoga class in the centre at 4 pm.

Funds raised will assist a volunteer trip to Nepal of which Aoife will be part, and which will bring together a group of international people of varied expertise who will assist in rebuilding schools in some of the Nepalese villages most seriously impacted by recent natural disaster.

Aoife told The Northern Standard this week that she will be part of a large group of volunteers travelling to Nepal in November with the Conscious Impact organisation.

“Conscious Impact is running volunteering initiatives throughout 2015 and into 2016 to help rebuild this beautiful country,” she explained.

“As part of my commitment to the project, I am fund-raising for Nepal – my goal is to raise €2,000 prior to arriving there in November.”

Stating that all donations would be greatly appreciated, Aoife called on those wishing to support her fund-raising endeavours to visit the relevant page on Empowered and “give what you can”.

She also thanked “the community at Teach na nDaoine who have been very good in allowing me to host this yoga class on September 12.”
